Company Interfaces: Reports directly to the Outbound Manager. Responsible for daily operation of Consumer Direct Packing, Retail Packing, and Export Packing, including sorting, scanning and gift wrap operations.. Direct Reports include 40-45 team members. Daily interaction w/ entire Outbound team. Frequent interaction w/ Picking, Shipping, Roanoke Customer Care team, & Roanoke IS. In addition, there will be some contact with outside vendors.
Key Performance Measurements: 1. Manage department labor costs to meet or exceed budgeted monthly cost per unit (CPU) 2. Effectively workflow to exceed service goals that is set for the department.
General Responsibilities: 1. Build and develop a highly motivated, high performance team 2. Update and review training materials and programs on an on going basis to keep current 3. Communicate, coordinate, and monitor departmental standards (KPM’s); Communicate Polices & Procedures 4. Recommend process & technology enhancements relating to increasing department’s performance. 5. Communicate & Monitor Safety Standards as established by Company Policy & Procedures 6. Promote and demonstrate the benefits of the desired company culture, Core Values, Mission and corporate Goals. 7. Maintain awareness of industry-best in both products and services. 8. Review and correct service failures; meet and/or exceed departmental KPM’s (including UPH) . 9. Leadership: Participate & contribute to Management Team meetings. 10. Planning & Execution: Develop & Execute plans with persistent and focused follow up. 11. Monitor to make sure each package is packed with accuracy and neatness. 12. Monitor to make sure older dates are passed out in a timely manner to meet customer’s expectations.
Qualifications Required: Proven ability to lead and motivate people. Demonstrated to be consistently positive, and gain respect of team & peers by example. Must be able to balance financial goals w/ quality service working flexible schedule as needed and dependability are firm requirements. Appropriate academic background, w/ current operations experience preferred. Experience in Manahattan WMOS/PkMS Preferred. Packing experience helpful. Proficiency in RF Technology, AS400, MS Word, Excel, and basic desktop Windows required. Solid creative problem solving skills are needed, and the ability to make a plan of action, and execute it, is a requirement. Must be able to work well in a fast-paced, team-orientated atmosphere, multi task, and meet deadlines.
